Bee-utifying the neighbourhood!

Last week Sohrab and I put the last of the small grant neighborhood dollars to work and built two bee friendly flower boxes out on the boulevard for humans and bees alike to enjoy. Here are some photos of our efforts, beginning with some photos of the happy bees after the flowers went in.

Of course Zahra helped us out, she has a knack for building things, which I am all too happy to encourage!

Since we do not have a truck Sohrab devised a clever way to transport the soil in the back of the car by rigging a tarp-not bad heh!

After it was loaded up it was easy to scoop out straight into the boxes.

And finally after several hours of building and  shoveling and planting…..

We have two lovely{if you ask me} flower boxes filled with Lavender and other bee friendly flowers, this makes me very happy as you can see from the photo above*grin*
